August 18-20 of this year is the 70th anniversary of the Delaware River flood event our author, Mary Shafer, wrote about in her bestselling documentary book, “Devastation on the Delaware: Stories and Images of the Deadly Flood of 1955.” Hard to believe it's been 20 years since we released this book, and how it's still drawing an audience.
Speaking of which: If you have an historical organization, library, or other group that would like to book an author appearance regarding this record-holding flood in southeastern Pennsylvania (including the Poconos), Mary will be speaking in person and via Zoom all summer, from June 1 through the end of August.
She's already got three gigs booked, including two private ones for the weekend of Aug. 16-17. She still has openings on the 18th-20th, if anyone would like to book for the actual historic dates. Mary is currently updating her old digital slide shows with some new photos and content, so if you've seen it before, this one will be a bit different. DM us for details if you're interested!
