Richmond Standard reporter Kathy Chouteau offers the 360-vew at the recent, expanded Neighborhood Makers Faire, which saw over 65 artists and makers of all styles assemble at Clinton and San Pablo avenues in Richmond.
The San Pablo Planning Commission on Tuesday approved plans to build a fast food restaurant building with a drive through facility at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and San Pablo Dam Road, within the parking lot shared by Planet Fitness and FoodMaxx.
The plans have Guatemalan fast-food restaurant chain Pollo Campero leasing the building, which will take up 2,619 square feet of the parking lot. Save Mart Supermarkets owns the property.
The Factory Bar’s patio (21 and over), and the parking lots of El Tucan, Waffles & Cream, Metztl boutique and Faby-Lous Plants, will host again at this year's Neighborhood Makers Faire. New additions include Catahoula Coffee and Stewart's Body Shop.

Hundreds of people showed up to the Richmond park for the event, which was sponsored by Gonzalo Rucobo’s Otra Costa Car Club, Unfinished Business Car Club, Santos Car Club and the Brotherhood Car Club.
Mark Torres of the Otra Costa Car Club brought his customized Harley Davidson Motorcycle that was decorated in the theme of the Raiders football team.
“This a wonderful family event for the community,” Torres said. “It shows how positive the City of Richmond is when the community comes to events like this.”
The Unfinished Business C.C. served a free complete BBQ meal with all the fixings to long lines of hungry people. Meanwhile, a DJ amped up the festivities with R&B music.
“Today’s event shows people and families can come together and have a safe and wonderful time together. We are Richmond proud,” said Pamela Hutchinson, a Richmond resident.
