It’s semi old news but if you haven’t heard, changes to the music game are coming, RocNation is under the Live Nation umbrella and although rap is one of the most streamed genres it’s not one of the most “booked” genres for live shows.

Do you think a break up could hurt the genre because as it sits, the monopoly they’ve created is hurting the industry. Let’s talk about it in the comment section

We got radio promo options (FM stations, internet stations, & XM) we got tour options to you get on as an opener, we got blog, interview, & IG influencer page opportunities, we got shows in and out of California available, we got the connections for features with established artists and producers, connections to experienced professionals behind the scenes (videographers, choreographers, mua, hair stylist, etc)

We have access to a lot of the tools an artist needs to take their career to the professional level but you have to be ready to do what it takes and invest in your own success because you can’t expect a JayZ or Diddy to do it when you’re not already doing it yourself and they have family pursuing entertainment dreams who they can pour money into instead of a stranger 🤷🏾‍♂️

“Just put it out, don’t get it cleared and if it blows up and you get sued that just means you did something right. Besides by then you’ll be up so much in finances you can pay whatever fees and fines come” 🤦🏾‍♂️👎🏾🙅🏾‍♂️💀 let me also mention that they took the song down & collected/sued for the money that was in their DistroKid account so they could even withdraw the money to help with their case.

So we already know that IG only shows posts to about 10-25% of your followers and now we’re seeing that I G & FB has been showing false paid post reports just to charge people more/faster. So think about this when considering paying someone for a post🤷🏾‍♂️

Sometimes it seems like the business model for some is: put out music regardless of quality, fake friendships so they can later beg and manipulate those connections for support, then posture like you’re the dopest ever even though nothing is bringing in sustainable income or new fans.

With the current industry layoff in the hiphop departments, it’s not looking like they’re going to have budgets to sign anyone so waiting for the record label handout is a fading option so how will you empower yourself if you don’t invest in self and are looking for someone else to do it?
