Mikey Canoy Productions

Mikey Canoy Productions Music Producer from Richmond, VA Born & raised in the "Lone Star State" Mikey is no stranger to great music.

Always surrounded by idols of the Nashville music industry, he looked up to them and was able to learn the true emotion that music brings. In 2009 he moved to Manassas, VA with huge ambition to become a songwriter/guitarist in a band. Throughout high school he was always writing songs and playing around in different music softwares to show to his friends and teachers. Finally, he decided to join a

band with his best friend and they wrote an album that was locally successful and gained quite a bit of notoriety. Since then he has been able to find the next step in furthering his experience as an engineer; including working with Eric St. Clair of (Set For Tomorrow/Lakeview), a legendary producer himself trained by Johnny Franck of (Attack Attack). Mikey is also a member of Nail The Mix (Joey Sturgis, Joel Wanasek, Eyal Levi) gaining a vast knowledge of audio production skills via online schooling and the online producer community that surrounds him. That being said, he is ready for anything and wants to help create music that will inspire those that love music just as much as he does. Book your session now!

Hi friends, lots of music coming out this year, and I am incredibly grateful for it. Seasons RVA just put their EP out and I got to mix/co-produce some songs on it alongside Jeremy Anderson. I worked on Jaded, Unfamiliar Reflection and The Healer. I’ve been wanting to work with these guys for a while and I’m so stoked to have been a part. Do yourselves a favor go stream it. It’s a ripper!

I would like to take a moment to just put out there that I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have presented themselves in my life this year thus far. I want to sincerely thank every one of my clients from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with their music. If we have worked together in any capacity at all, I want to thank you for not only your trust, but your friendship as well. If I would have asked myself 3 years ago where I would be today I would honestly not expect to be anywhere close to where I am right now. I have had 4 days "off" basically since March (and it's not slowing down basically through the rest of the year) grinding on sessions and new projects, as well as working with Kidzbop (on a full time production schedule at this point) as well. This is not supposed to be a post just bragging, or at ALL complaining about not having "days off" because it truly doesn't feel like work. It's just a post of immense gratitude and appreciation. Since I was a kid all I wanted to do was make music. I have also worked job after job daydreaming about not being there and being at home working on music, and doing anything I possibly could to make that a reality. I truly feel like this year has been the "payoff" I have needed for years. Keep grinding for yourself, and work overtime for yourself. Learn new things in your spare time, it's easy to get caught in the doomscroll. My momma always told me to keep on keepin' on, and do whatever makes me happy. Everything else will fall in place. She was right, and if she were here today she would be so proud to see that I'm sticking through it and doing just that. Anyhow, rant over TL;DR Do what makes you happy, celebrate your wins, and keep on keepin' on.

Just wrapped up a week with Perelandra in the studio! These boys came all the way down from Rochester NY (about a 9 hour drive), and crashed here in RVA to work on their upcoming album. These songs are absolutely amazing, and you should follow these guys. They're bringing the heat!

In other news, been working with Kidz Bop/Cool Time on lots of new fun songs and my books are packing up! I am unbelievably floored with how this year is shaping up already. I could not be happier with life right now, and I can't wait to share all of these really cool projects with you all this year. In other OTHER news, amazing things happening to all my friends as well and seeing lots of massive wins on my timeline. I love to see it, and I am beyond excited for what the future holds for them.

That's all, just beyond excited and wanted to share.

What is something you're proud and passionate about that you're working on? Let's build eachother up. 2024 will be a great year for everyone!

Happy Easter everybody!

Hi all!

I have had some issues with some clients not being able to book weekend dates when my studio schedule opens up, due to other artists booking out in advance. The dates are first come first serve so if someone locks in a bunch of weekend dates, then they get that time because they booked first. However, I am opening up a private calendar for a flat $50 monthly fee to get early access to the calendar before I release it to everyone. This would guarantee you any date that is available, including first picks on weekends. If this interests you, please shoot me a DM. I am only taking 5 clients for this so the private calendar doesn't get flooded and we run into the same issue! Cheers everyone, happy weekend!

Dude. Just thinking about how thankful I am with what 2023 has done for me already. My band is growing at an absolutely insane rate doubling all analytics of 2+ years of hard work in 4 weeks. My business is exploding after 3 full years of absolute struggle, and barely affording mortgage/groceries, to having full books and absolutely crushing it. It really does show that risk paired with HARD WORK = reward and progress 100% of the time. When you feel like you're in the trenches and s**t sucks, it does suck. Keep swinging, it starts to pay off when you don't let off the gas. The only way out of a bad situation is to stick through it, and keep chipping away at it every day until it compounds into something beautiful.
