We went out for a short trip to check on a few things and run the Jon boat and caught 6 fish, 4 of which were trophy fish. Today’s fish weighed 15, 27, 38, 57, 57, 62. Not bad for 3 hours on the river. We have these fish dialed and patterns don’t last long on the James River.

The river is on fire! 🔥

We had Austin, Tori, and Mason join us to celebrate Kayden’s birthday. The goal was to catch some fish, not target anything in particular. We sent the group home with a pile of eaters for a fish fry and a bunch of new personal best fish. The rods were getting hit all day and we ended up with three trophy fish, weighing 31, 35, and 36 lbs! Welcome to the trophy club!

We had 3 generations of the Traas family out with us on the James River. Wind and cold fronts had the river acting all sorts of crazy. We really had to grind through the day but thanks to the patience of this group, they went home with a bunch of fillets and a the memory of catching this tank of a blue catfish! The crappie fishing is outstanding right now. We brought home 3 bags of fillets and had a blast catching fish all afternoon on the precision cast rods. Come on out for a trip catching some of the most delicious fish in the water!

Dave brought his wife up from NC to spend the day on the James River with us. We lost a big fish right off the jump and didn’t cross paths with another trophy the rest of the trip. We filled the cooler with eaters and caught some quality fish along the way. He went home with a bag of fillets and enough gizzard shad for many future fishing trips. Thanks for choosing

Max and Patrick decided to celebrate their birthdays on the water with us. These two young guys are eager to learn the river and we packed a lot of info into a 4 hour trip. Patrick left with a new personal best blue catfish of 26lb and they took home a bunch of eaters for a fish fry.
