Rep. Bush Impeachment Debate Remarks
Former Missouri Speaker Tim Jones hopes lawmakers expand school choice options in 2019. Do you agree?
Missouri Viewpoints is a weekly non-partisan news/information/public affairs program for both radio and television that reached over 85% of the Show Me State geographically.
The show actually started out in 2007 as a YouTube series recorded in a coffee shop in Grandview. Back then, the shows were homemade and ten minutes long (because that’s all you can do with a free YouTube account). Mike has always loved interviewing interesting people and the idea for this program came from that desire to tell stories and to help others be more informed about important (or just interesting) topics.
In late 2012, a partnership with Lindenwood University was formed and Missouri Viewpoints became a cable television show on LUTV in St. Louis.
Before long, more cable channels added the program and some radio stations began broadcasting the audio of the show each week.
Then several broadcast TV stations added Missouri Viewpoints to their Sunday morning schedules.
Production of the show ended in March, 2020 with the final original episode airing in April, 2020. In all, over 330 episodes were produced from 2012 to 2020. Some cable and broadcast stations continue to air previous episodes.
The concept of the show is simple: find interesting topics that matter to Missourians, remember that the audience - not the host - is what matters, treat interview guests fairly and with civility, never insult your audience’s intelligence, and keep the focus of the show on the issues that matter and the news makers who affect our lives.
The Missouri Viewpoints Facebook community continues to discuss news stories that affect the state.
