Music and Hymns
Tim McClure, violin
Daniel Wonders, piano
Program Notes
All music is a hymn. Whatever spiritual beliefs you hold, making music lights up the part of our brains that connects past, present and future. It illuminates not only what we’ve experienced, but how our feelings about these experiences change as we learn and grow. In the storms around us, it clarifies, calms and creates a way of moving forward. If anything qualifies as “magic” in this world, it’s music.
So, our goal with this music today is to create a space in which each listener accesses their inner music. Enjoy this journey with us.
Artist Bios
Tim McClure
Violinist, performer, and registered occupational therapist, Tim has loved playing music on stage for as long as he can remember. After initial violin training with his mother, he later studied with Adam DeGraf (Richmond Symphony) and Wanchi Huang (James Madison University) before heading to Brigham Young University to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in 2015. Honoring his other interests in human health and occupation, Tim traveled to Minnesota to obtain a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (2020). Tim just completed a Master of Music in Performance at the Pennsylvania State University, studying with James Lyon.
Tim aspires to three core values in music performance: creativity, integrity, and humanity. In his current stage of artistic and professional development, Tim combines his professional experience as violin performer, teacher and occupational consultant to not only play great music, but also to help colleagues and students who are struggling with the intense occupational demands of professional music.
Dan Wonders
Dan received his Bachelor’s degree in Church Music from the University of Valley Forge in 2000. In 2022, Dan completed a Bachelor’s of Nursing degree through Wilkes University.
