Congratulations to Shaimaa Bouras-Saiah for her 1st place finish at this weekend's Snowball (online) tournament! Way to go Shaimaa!

Also, Revere is back in Student Congress w/Minnah Shiekh and Xavier Alvarez jumping in with both feet & doing all of us proud on Saturday. Great to see you breaking new ground!

Congratulations go out to the Speech and Debate Team for their strong showing at Saturday's Holly Festival tournament. Special recognition goes to Shaimaa Bouras for taking First Place in Poetry Reading, and Melisa Berilo for finishing first in Play Reading among the 706 students from 30+ schools.

Others reaching finals in their events were Minnah Sheikh in Play Reading, Jason Acosta in Radio Broadcasting, Kevin Hernandez in Poetry Reading, Grace Rondon and Katherine Uribe in Novice Oral Interp., Marcus Evans in Impromptu Speaking, and Minnah, Melisa, Xavier Alvarez and Victoria de Oliveira Silva with their TV News Team. Grace Rondon and Kevin Cano also earned honorable mention in Poetry and Original Poetry events. Thanks Speech and Debate for making us all proud!

Congratulations! to the RHS Speech and Debate Team for successfully hosting the Revere Fall Kickoff MSDL tournament! Thanks to all those that helped, all those that competed & to birthday boy Jason Acosta!

Special recognitions go out to Katherine Uribe, who finished 4th in NOI, Marcus Evans, 5th in Impromptu, Yasmin Ouakani, 3rd in Poetry Reading, and Ava Hawkes and Coby Everton for taking 4th in Big Questions Debate despite...um...some controversy. And, of course, your champion in Poetry Reading...Shaimaa Bouras!

Wow! An unprecedented number of people have joined Speech and Debate this year. With over 50 people on our roster, we are growing bigger than ever which means we need judges! If anyone is interested in judging for the Novice Tournament(October 19th), the Revere Fall Kickoff(October 26th), or future tournaments, please e-mail Mr. Fellowes at [email protected]

Chris was such a lively figure during his time on our team with a unique personality and perspectives on the world around him. You could always count on Chris to spark an interesting conversation. Kudos to Kevin Cano and Seba Ismail for competing in the Boston Catholic Forensic League's National Qualifier this past weekend. Kevin reached runoffs in Declamation, and Seba earned a spot for her performance at the OI (Prose & Poetry) National Championships to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconcin in May!

Wow! RHS rocked it at the Holly Tournament this year. Among the highlights were the following:

Sarah Benhalima finishing in the top half in all five of her Pentathlon events (including press conference)

Jason Acosta earning 3rd in Group Discussion

Seba Ismail landing 5th in Poetry Reading in her first competition of the year.

Shaimaa Bouras getting 6th and Top Novice in Poetry Reading

Ayah Amar being awarded 2nd in Novice Oral Interp

Kevin Cano earning a spot in Declamation finals.

and Nawal Khan being named Top Novice in Radio Broadcasting

All told, 18 RHS students competed in 20 qualifying events and earned 16 bids for state finals!
