We had the best snow day in the Springfield area this past week—probably the best since I was a kid.

I realized I hadn’t been sledding since I was about 10 years old. Somewhere between pretending to be a grown-up and actually becoming one (whatever that even means, haha), I forgot how to play. I forgot about little Iris—the girl who used to wake up excited for snow days and couldn’t wait to sled with her sister.

This week, I decided it was time to reconnect with that part of me. So, Mason and I took the kids out for a day of fun. We laughed until our cheeks hurt, carved out sled paths on the hill by our house, and made the kind of memories I know we’ll cherish forever.

Here’s the thing: don’t ignore that little version of you still tucked inside. They’re waiting for you to remember how to play, how to dream, how to just be.

You matter. Your needs matter. Take care of yourself, and don’t forget to have fun along the way.

So, go sledding. ❤️

Foundations Self-Defense Course
This 4-session course (90 minutes each) is all about building your skills and confidence. By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to face “F8 Club” in our padded room with a police officer “attacker.”

What to Expect:
🔸 Sessions 1–3: Hands-on training to escape real-life scenarios, plus essential knowledge about what self-defense really means—including online safety tips.

🔸 Session 4: F8 Club: Step into a controlled, high-stakes environment to test your skills against the “Red Man”—a fully padded police officer. Face simulated attacks and learn how to stop the freeze and turn “when” into a WIN!
