Tickets are still available for this Sunday's debut of the KNCJ Biggest Little Concert Series! At 11:00 a.m., violinist Ruth Lenz, the concertmaster of the Reno Phil and Reno Chamber Orchestra, will perform with her dad, cellist and French hornist John Lenz, and pianist James Winn at UNR's Hall Recital Hall. Music by Ysaÿe, Brahms, and Dvořák will be featured. Along with the music, you'll get to hear the artists talk about their lives and careers!

Quick note: this concert will NOT be broadcast live on KNCJ. It will be recorded for a later broadcast on KNCJ and KUNR. But to hear the music on Sunday, you'll have to come to the concert!

Be aware, though, that there may be some difficulties getting to the concert hall due to a race happening that day on N. Virginia. Just allow yourself a few extra minutes to get to the venue!

For the last few months, I've been working on putting together KNCJ public radio's first classical concert series. Finally, we're able to announce the debut of the KNCJ Biggest Little Concert Series! On Sunday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m., violinist Ruth Lenz, the concertmaster of the Reno Phil and Reno Chamber Orchestra, will perform with her dad, cellist and French hornist John Lenz, and pianist James Winn at UNR's Hall Recital Hall. Music by Ysaÿe, Brahms, and Dvořák will be featured.

One of the things that will make these concerts unique is that, along with the great music, the performers will be talking with me between selections about life and music, in the style of the classic public radio program St. Paul Sunday. These concerts will, I hope, be both a pleasant and exciting way to spend a Sunday morning. Please come and enjoy the first of a series of great performances featuring some of Reno's outstanding musicians!
