The first Solidarity movement, known by the name Solidarność, began in Poland in 1980. The movement was a pivotal grassroots campaign for workers' rights.

While initially focused on labor issues, it evolved into a broader social and political movement advocating for human rights and systemic reforms.

The Solidarity Movement played a crucial role in the eventual collapse of communist rule in Poland and other Eastern Bloc countries

Symbols of Resistance
Electrical Resistors were used as symbols by supporters of the Solidarity movement.
Activists would attach small electrical resistors to their clothing, such as on lapels, shirts, or hats. This became a way for members and supporters to recognize one another discreetly without drawing too much attention from authorities.

The name "resistor" itself played into the concept of resistance against the authoritarian government. It was both a literal and figurative nod to the act of resisting oppression. They became a badge of quiet rebellion among participants in the movement.

Volunteer Firefighters Wanted.

The PLFR/EMS is actively seeking interested persons to become Volunteer Firefighters. Come out and serve the Pyramid Lake communities by becoming an active Volunteer Firefighter/EMT.

The PLFR/EMS will train you and get you certified for Structural Firefighting, Wildland Firefighting, Search & Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services. There is no cost to you for Training and Personal Protective Equipment, all you need is a commitment to help your family and friends within your community.

We continue to volunteer for multiple nonprofits providing a variety of support and performances as community services, remotely or physically there’s time and effort invested continuously. To keep providing those services voluntarily we could use help!

Thank you all who have supported our endeavors, this year was a year of great changes which come at great cost, personally I’m still working to get in a better position and has been a challenge to restart life once again in a different place.
