Join us for Writers' Wednesday on August 14, 2024, between 5 and 6:30pm. The evening will begin with light refreshments from 5 to 5:30pm, followed by a captivating talk.

Prepare to embark on an extraordinary expedition titled "Walk of Ages: A Generational Journey from Mt. Whitney to Death Valley." This month, our featured author is Withanee Andersen, who will share the fascinating story behind her book.

Intrigued by her father's footsteps, Withanee Andersen sets out on a life-changing adventure alongside her companions. Together, they undertake a challenging trek spanning from Mt. Whitney to Death Valley, retracing the exact route her father, Jim Andersen, had traversed forty-three years ago.

In 2017, Withanee courageously took on the monumental task of reliving her father's legacy trek of 131 miles. With divine intervention, ice-cold beer, and the unwavering support of her parents, who were part of the accompanying party, she embarked on this incredible journey.

"Walk of Ages" humorously chronicles the parallel experiences of a daughter's arduous quest and a father's unwavering support. Through this book, we witness the unfolding of an epic adventure from two distinct perspectives, as the daughter faces her own challenges while the father reminisces about his own experiences from four decades earlier.

This event will be held in the Nevada Historical Society event space. Make sure to arrive early to ensure yourself a seat!
