Reno: Independence Day fireworks show following the Reno Aces vs. Sacramento River Cats game. The game begins at 6:35 p.m., an extended fireworks show immediately following the game
Grand Sierra has fireworks around 9:15pm over the Grand Bay Lake
Sparks: The Nugget presents the 24th Annual Star Spangled Sparks fireworks around 9:30p
Pyramid Lake: You can also celebrate the holiday at Pyramid Lake, as it is open for summer recreation. You will need a valid permit to be at the lake, you can buy those from the Ranger Station from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. next to the Marina.
Fireworks are illegal in Northern Nevada and are only permitted to be fired at the following beaches: Indian Head Rock Beach, Wino Beach, Sandhole Beach, Rawhide Beach and Blockhouse Beach with a valid PLPT fireworks permit. Fireworks are available for purchase at all three store locations:
I-80 Smokeshop: 1000 Smoke Shop Cir, Wadsworth, NV … NIXON store: 50 NV-447, Nixon, NV … MARINA location: 2500 Sutcliff Loop Rd, Reno, NV
Carson City Fireworks about 9:30pm at Eagle Valley Golf Course on Centennial Park Drive (new location after 33 years at Mills Park)

Fireworks in Virginia City will happen about 8:30pm
Fireworks in Fernley around 9pm
Saturday, July 6th: The Row downtown Reno has fireworks around 9:30pm.

Northern Nevada Schools Announce Closures For Friday

The Washoe County School District is announcing that all schools in Incline Village are canceled for Friday, March 1.

This includes all classes, events, and activities. The district says its due to the hazardous weather and road conditions that are predicted for Friday morning.

The University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe non-essential operations and in-person classes are suspended for Friday.
