First time ever putting in a plot, and it turned out pretty good since the old corn and bean seeds we tried didn’t take off… at all.

Day One Africa was mostly spent getting a layout of the land. Saw a lot of animals and made some stalks, but no shots fired. We were in country for a week so we had plenty of time, but this day was really meant for getting a headcount and our gear setup for the upcoming adventure that was about to quickly turnaround.We went over there with a modest list and Kudu was number one on that list, but after talking with our PH and hearing about the Kudu numbers that were decimated from the extended drought they’ve been experiencing the past 2 years, I decided to change course and I’m so glad I did.We heard about an exceptional Eland bull that was very old and crafty and being part of the spiral horn family, I was more than happy to chase him instead of Kudu.Our other main goal was to get Ashley on a cool Impala and possibly Wildebeest, being a brand new hunter, I knew this could be a challenge for her. It’s not technically a Mag Dump Monday, but close enough.
It really took Joe back to the good ol’ days, when times were simpler and ammo was free.
Warming up with 100 yard pistol shootin. No big deal….
Actually it took us about 10 cumulative shots for us both to hit, but it still feels damn good stretching the legs on a Glock 19.
