If you haven’t seen them yet, however compact you think the new is, I guarantee it’s smaller. The NAMM show floor isn’t exactly the best critical listening environment, but I left the booth thoroughly impressed with these things, and doubly so at their size and price point. They can’t quite hit the speed and agility of the MicroMains in the low end obviously, but they sound very familiar to me throughout their working range, and they’ve got me thinking about a pair for my office! Absolutely worth a look for smaller rooms working in rock or other less subby genres, or I expect for just about anything you want if you pair them with a decent sub.
