It's so very sad. I just learned of the passing of a dear friend, Francisco Menendez. I met him at Cannes in 2015 and have kept in touch since—often meeting up at Cannes yearly. He was a great film professor who inspired countless students - and an even-better friend. Damn, I'm going to miss him.

I was at the U2 concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas an hour ago when the NFL sent me my confirmation email for my Super Bowl tickets tomorrow. I’m thrilled that I got accommodated again. Tomorrow I will be attending my 30 second Super Bowl in a row.

I haven’t seen my beloved 49ers win one since 1995, so hopefully they do it tomorrow. But, if they don’t, I grew up in Kansas City and I love the Chiefs as well.

Goals for 2024: (in no particular order)

1. Expand my company by 10 employees.
2. Reduce my belly by 10 lbs.
3. Move (nearby - I love our area).
4. Sleep more.
5. Write more.
6. Work less.
7. Go back to driving a race car (it’s not a mid-life crisis, since a) I’m beyond mid-life and b) I’ve always loved small race cars).
8. Get back to Dawson City, Yukon, Canada - one of the most magical towns on the planet.
9. Inspire my wife & daughters to actively go after their pursuits and not give a s**t what others may think.
11. Attend my 32nd straight Super Bowl.
12. Make my film, Limping On Cloud 9.
11. Fill in my bald spot (through a natural-looking, well-done procedure in either Beverly Hills, Oregon or Turkey).

I’m not sure if I can achieve all of these within this calendar year but I do think I will get most of them done. Making my movie is probably the hardest one. Everything else is doable.
