In 1917, the town was gifted more than 11 acres of land, which was turned into Memorial Park. The plaque at the entrance pays tribute to 3 active members of the Reading community.
Did you know? Since its inception, no organized team competitions have taken place in the park. The rule was set to maintain the residential feel of the area.

Great community turnout today for the dedication of a new Vietnam War Veterans Memorial at RMHS. It pays tribute to the 7 young Reading men who died in the war.
The Reading Coalition for Prevention & Support was established in 2006. It offers programs and services that focus on substance misuse prevention and mental health promotion. Coalition Director Erica McNamara was recently recognized for her work.

Visitors to the Mattera Area off Main Street have seen something special grow in recent months, and that’s just the beginning! The Reading Community Garden is now open. And for 16 lucky gardeners, their crops are now coming along. There will be a special public ribbon cutting next Wednesday, June 15th at 3PM Organizers have thoughts of expanding in the future and a new lottery will be held next Spring for the 16 beds.
