Town Clerk Laura Gemme has provided her seventh update for all of the open seats in the April 8, 2025 local election. We will provide updates every week until the ballot is finalized as nomination papers are not official until returned and certified by the Town Clerk and Board of Registrars. The last day to pull papers is February 18, 2025 by 5PM and all must be returned by February 18, 2025 by 5PM. Starting off with the Select Board, newcomer Christopher Cook....

The Select Board will be meeting this evening at 7:00pm in the Select Board meeting room at Town Hall and remotely on Zoom. The first item on the agenda after public comment and the town managers report is a recognition of Mandarin Reading Restaurant. Owner Robert Lee has raised over $100k for various local and outside groups since 2012 when he formed "Benefit Nights" for the town. From PTO's, to sports teams to Reading Community Singers, Robert and his staff have ran a never ending flow of support over the years, where every weekend it seems like Mandarin was running one of their 20% fundraisers.....

This past Saturday, a resident organized meeting was held at the Reading Public Library. It was heavily attended with multiple residents standing in the doorway and hallway. Tonight at 7pm, the Select Board will be meeting with the MBTA for a turn-back track discussion. That portion of the agenda is slated for roughly 8pm.
