Its in horrible condition and needs a million dollars and a million man hours to fix it up. We decided to convert the rear portion back into a barn and the front, that used to be a restaurant, before it was office space, would be a good storefront and bakery. Of course I decided I would do the work myself. Why would I hire a plumber, an electrician, a roofer, HVAC, or anyone else? I can do it all!
Or so I thought. If you follow this page you will see some of the misadventures and mishaps of my weekend life as I attempt ambitious projects but instead end up making dozens of trips to Home Depot. You will also see my family at work on all of our DIY projects for our store - from turning a bed headboard into a planter or an taking an old, ugly table and turning it into a nice, new table, or any other time-consuming, headache-inducing project my mom can dream up for us to do. All of these projects will eventually be available for sale in our store, Southern Farmhouse Company...assuming we ever get it built-out. There will be arguments. There will be mistakes. There will be things thrown. But there will also be lots of fun. Why do we do it? It's a labor of love, I suppose. Because we can!
