In this video, C. Vision Productions visits the Chicago hotspot of McCook, to view action on the Santa Fe mainline, along with the shared Indiana Harbor Belt and B&OCT tracks that cross the Santa Fe on a quad set of diamonds. It’s 1990, and Santa Fe’s recently delivered “Super Fleet” GP60Ms are getting put through their paces handling the railroad’s hottest trains. Sit back and relax, as videographer Dan Hadley documents trains of the Santa Fe, Indiana Harbor Belt, CSX, Chicago & North Western, Grand Trunk, Amtrak, and Soo Line at this very busy railroad intersection.

C. Vision Productions takes you to central Wisconsin to visit the small village of Junction City. This is where the Milwaukee Road and the Soo Line once crossed each other over a diamond, giving the town its name. Today, the CN Railway is in charge of movements on both lines. This still makes Junction City a railroading hot spot as it once was in the Soo Line and Milwaukee Road era.

C. Vision Productions invites you to our favorite railroad location, Newcastle, Wyoming. This old coal mining town sits on the east central edge of Wyoming and borders the western slopes of the beautiful Black Hills. It is here that the ex-CB&Q main line from Alliance, Nebraska to Billings, Montana weaves its way through Newcastle. This line is BNSF's Black Hills Subdivision. It handles numerous coal trains on a daily basis. In this production, C. Vision captures images from 1990 thru 1994 in the Burlington Northern years. SD40-2's, C30-7's and SD60M's take charge of coal trains in the BN era.

Mountains and narrow gauge railroads are two things that worked well together years ago. One of the more notable of those narrow gauge railroads belonged to the Rio Grande. In this video, C. Vision presents the Rio Grande Narrow Gauge in the 1950’s from the films of George Niles.
This video includes a big portion of the Rio Grande narrow gauge fleet. 2-8-2’s in the K-27, K-28, K-36 and K-37 class are shown along with US Army diesel 4700N, that was tested by the Rio Grande in 1954.

Come along with C. Vision Productions and tour the St. Croix Subdivision of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe in 2006. We document the St. Croix Sub as it follows the Mississippi River from La Crosse, Wisconsin to St. Croix Junction south of St. Paul, Minnesota. This mostly double track main line is a part of the BNSF's northern Transcontinental Mainline from Chicago to the Pacific Northwest. With the addition of the major hub of Minneapolis and St. Paul, this line has plenty of high speed railroad action!

The Last Days of Canadian Pacific's Ford Hauler and St. Paul's Ford Ranger Assembly Plant

In this presentation, Chris Laskowski captures the Ford Hauler on several occasions, leading up to the last days of its operation. You will see Canadian Pacific and Soo Line GP38-2s and GP40s in charge of trains climbing Short Line Hill. Plenty of switching action is captured at Ford Yard. And, you get to see some rare footage from within the plant before it was closed along with watching crews loading the Ford Rangers into the rail cars.

One of the classic Twin Cities railroad icons for many years was a daily train in St. Paul known as the Ford Hauler. Beginning in the Milwaukee Road days, th...

C. Vision Productions presents the classic films of George Niles and Fred Crissey captured in Minnesota’s Iron Ore Country from the 1950s to the 1970s. Beginning with the Northern Pacific, we’ll see several movements in Duluth before we shift our focus to the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range. George documented a good variety of DM&IR steam and diesel operations in the late 1950s, with coverage of many interesting locations across the system. Mighty Yellowstones, SD9s, SW9s, and various other steam and diesel locomotives are featured.

C. Vision Productions takes you back to the 1950s to view classic train action on the Milwaukee Road, Rock Island, CB&Q, and Chicago Great Western, captured by cinematographer George Niles. We begin by covering steam and early diesel operations on the Rock Island in and around Des Moines, Iowa. Next, we’ll view passenger and freight action on the Milwaukee Road’s Omaha main across Iowa. The impressive Des Moines River bridge west of Madrid, Iowa is featured in this segment. We also get a chance to see very rare footage of the Milwaukee's gas car passenger route between Des Moines and Spirit Lake, Iowa. Then it is off to La Crosse, Wisconsin, where George captured Milwaukee Road and Chicago, Burlington & Quincy movements, including several scenes at Grand Crossing. More CB&Q trains are seen east of La Crosse along the Mississippi River. Heading back to Iowa, our focus shifts to the Chicago Great Western in Oelwein. After our brief look at the CGW, we end the show with some brick and tile quarry operations in Redfield, Iowa.

We’ll tour the Apache’s entire mainline from the paper mill west of Snowflake, to the Santa Fe interchange in Holbrook. In addition to ground shots along the line, this program features a full cab ride aboard Apache C420 number 82. The Apache Railway was well known for its fleet of classic Alco diesels. Locomotive models C420 and RS-36 were in use at the time of production, and both were seen in operation.

With footage captured between 1979 and 1985, you’ll see the SOO in action shortly before the Milwaukee Road merger. The motive power variety is quite extraordinary, as F-units, EMD switchers, GP7s, GP9s, GP30s, GP38-2s, SD40s, SD40-2s, SD60s, one GP35, and even a rare RS27, are all viewed in operation. As an added bonus, EMD SD60 Demonstrators 1 and 4 are seen testing on the Soo Line prior to the railroad placing its first order for the powerful locomotives.

C. Vision Productions visits two obscure private railroads operating in the western and southwestern United States. First, we’ll tour USG’s 26-mile narrow-gauge rail line between Plaster City, California and the company’s gypsum quarry at Split Mountain, south of Ocotillo Wells. In this segment, we’ll see a Bombardier DL-535E handling both loaded and empty gypsum shuttle trains across the Sonoran Desert. Next, we head to western Colorado and eastern Utah in search of the Deseret Western Railway (now the Deseret Power Railway). This isolated railroad operated with a fleet of GE E60C-2 electrics, hauling coal from the Deserado Mine in Colorado, to the Bonanza Power Plant in Utah.
