A fire that started Sunday morning at Crowders Mountain got out of control and fire crews worked all day and into Monday morning to contain the blaze.

God Knows

God knows the weight of the waters that came,
The mountain towns never looking the same,
The valleys drowned, the earth torn apart,
A hurricane’s fury etched deep in the heart.

God knows the rubble, the broken trees,
The shattered homes swept to their knees,
The silent prayers in the midnight rain,
The scars of loss, the echo of pain.

But God also knows the hands that mend,
The neighbors, the strangers who choose to extend,
Bridges of kindness through mud and stone,
To prove no one will face this alone.

God knows the sign that stands in the waste,
A simple truth written bold and chaste:
“God knows,” it whispers, as hope still grows,
Through sorrow’s depths, resilience shows.

In Western Carolina, through floods and despair,
Americans gathered, united by care,
Through every storm, one truth remains:

A few sprinkles couldn’t keep these gardeners home today. Thanks to Bridge volunteers and members of the Spokes for Hope organization, the Flowering Bridge is blooming once again for the winter with these hardy winter pansies. Lake Lure businesses are open and would love to see you. If you visit the Flowering Bridge, please make sure to stay on the walkway. (Please note the Chimney Rock Village is still closed to the public.)

As we drive around our farm picking up these paper lanterns .. that our cows try to eat we ask you to find something better to do to support your causes.. there is wire inside the paper that will get on their stomach and kill them. Donate money directly to your cause please instead of lanterns or balloons.. not trying to do anything but educate

Cowboy Dave, a beloved figure in Swannanoa, NC, has captured the hearts of locals with his unwavering kindness and cheerful presence. Stationed daily at the Shell station near the Swannanoa exit, he waves, smiles, and tips his hat to passing cars, rain or shine. Part of his ministry, “Hearts Hurt ❤️,” Cowboy Dave’s mission is to spread joy and encouragement to all who cross his path. Beech Mountain Parkway. At 5000 ft above sea level, this section of the parkway is certainly “white knuckle” driving during a snow storm. Even with snow tires and four wheel drive, these steep switchbacks can be a challenge to maintain traction. Cross that double yellow line and you’re likely to meet a plow truck head on.

Hope For Crisis - Need more campers for WNC!

Here is the process to donate one with us.

1. Make sure it meets the criteria of: no mold, no soft spots, no leaks, and all appliances work.

2. Fill out the donate a camper form on our website. Make sure you upload a picture when doing so. https://hopeforcrisis.com/donate-a-camper/

3. One of us will reach out with a call or text and confirm details and likely request more pictures.

4. We will assign you a recipient according to the size camper you have. You get the recipient’s name and number and can communicate directly with him/her. Feel free to add additional supplies/donations as needed if you like.

5. If you don’t deliver it yourself, we will then reach out to our driver network and find a volunteer driver to deliver it.

6. Driver is asked to take a picture for proof of delivery. Most do.

7. We will get you a tax receipt if you request one. If the camper value is over $5k it will need to be appraised and receipt will be appraised value.

As of 12/8 at 8 am we have 534 applications for campers and we have received and sent just over 100 campers.

Recipient’s are required to have hurricane Helene damage and be in need of housing. We do verify the need.

This is the 17th camper I’ve brought in through people who have contacted me. It’s amazing how many people are giving such nice camper’s to those in need!
