It’s Gonna Be Okay – Behind the lyrics.
“At the beginning of the pandemic, and with so many questions and uncertainties, like many adults, I channeled my experience through this song. I asked myself questions about when this is going to be over, what the future will look like, feelings that mirror those of so many other teenagers. Social interaction has changed and has deeply affected people of my age, so I wanted to reflect that in this song," comenta Samiyah.
‘It’s going to be okay’ was recorded during the pandemic at GBN Recording Studio , trying to reflect the uncertainty of what the future would look like. The song lyrics underlie the feelings of anxiety and sadness that this health crisis has brought society, but at the same time, gives a glimmer of hope as this is only a temporary phase that will soon be over. In addition, Samiyah wrote a rap verse which is performed by her 10-year-old brother Enok.
Samiyah Aires Rust began her artistic path at the early age of three by taking dance classes, music (piano, keyboard, voice, guitar) and acting. Growing up she began writing scripts, shooting movies at home, and producing her own Youtube Channel. After turning 10, she started writing songs and producing melodies.
The young artist has been producing music for over 4 years, experimenting with her sound, yet sticking to the classic techniques and elements involved in influential pop and electronic sounds. She is currently working on other songs that will be released soon.
