Should you charge hourly or by the package?
If you're still figuring out which pricing structure is best for your services as a virtual assistant, here's are some tips.
If you are a new virtual assistant and you're not yet aware of how many hours it would take you to finish a task, It is a highly recommended that you use an hourly pricing model as it gives you the chance to learn how long different tasks are going to take you to complete.
With hourly pricing, It's pretty straightforward. You are paid based on the number of hours it took you to complete as task.
I do recommend though to that you set a specific hourly rate for your service and sell your hourly rate within a package structure. For example: 10 hours per month at $300.
And as you get better at what you do, and it will only take you less time to complete a task, you can eventually move into package-based pricing. I love this pricing structure because it doesn’t require you to trade time for money. Instead of paying for your time, your client is paying you for the value of your deliverable.
