WRKR Racine The original 100.7 FM WRKR was a Top 40 Rocker in a small town sandwiched somewhere between Milwaukee and Chicago in the 1970's and 80's. 100.7 FM WRKR Racine.

For many years, from the early 1970s through the late-1980s, they were WRKR, a rock-based Top 40 station targeting its city of license Racine, Kenosha and the southern part of Milwaukee County. The calls stood for W-Racine- Kenosha- Radio. It was known as "The Rocker", "FM-100", "WRKR-Where The New Songs Are (very early 80's) , "Hit Radio one-double-oh seven( 100.7)". and "The New WRKR" even "Hit

Radio 100 WRKR. WRKR gradually started targeting the whole Milwaukee market. Due to heavy Top 40 competition, in March of 1987 WRKR changed to WHBT - Heart Beat 101 with a light R&B format. That lasted about 6 months. The WRKR calls were held on the AM for awhile and eventually given up. The WRKR call sign was reassigned by the FCC licensed to a station on 107.7 in Portage MI, where it remains today in 2021. The station targets Kalamazoo, MI. This page is not affiliated with them.
