Our Miss Jane has passed away.
Longtime Channel 8 personality Jane Fordham passed away, April 15th. Jane will be remembered for hosting the broadcast of Racine 4th of July parades with Norb Trottier for many years and her many commercial appearances. She is survived by her daughters Traci and Beth.

Jane’s funeral Mass will be at 10 am Friday, April 26, at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Mocksville, NC, immediately followed by a reception hosted by her family in the church’s social hall.

Remember First Racine Bank? You know, back before it was Marine Bank, something else, then Bank One and now Chase? Well, this was back when they were FR around 1980. They looked friendly. If you look at the thumbnail picture, you'll notice that the Wisconsin Ave. parking ramp is still there. (The one that was built around Kewpee's) Ron Schaal did the voice over.

"LIVE from Humble Park Northwest!" During the Major League Baseball strike of 1981, Channel 8's Racine City League Softball was the viewing of choice in most every bar and gathering place in town. Ron Schaal, Chuck Perce and Jay Suhr handled play-by-play and color announcing over the years. Dan Rath is heard in this clip from '81.
