ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: PENNDOT TO BEGIN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION ON ALLENTOWN ROAD IN MILFORD TOWNSHIP

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction will begin Monday, January 27, on a project to replace the bridge carrying Allentown Road over Branch of Unami Creek in Milford Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

Monday, January 27, through late June, Allentown Road will be closed between Route 663 (John Fries Highway) and Kumry Road. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 663 (John Fries Highway), Krammes Road, and Kumry Road.
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Built in 1951, the existing 22-foot-long, 36-foot-wide structure carries an average of 3,699 vehicles per day.

ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: ROUTE 113 BETWEEN BETHLEHEM PIKE AND DIAMOND STREET BEGINNING JAN. 20. EXPECTED CLOSED 4 MONTHS.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will begin Monday, January 20, on a project to replace the bridge carrying Route 113 (Souderton Road) over Branch of Mill Creek in Hilltown Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

Monday, January 20, through late May, Route 113 (Souderton Road) will be closed between Bethlehem Pike and Diamond Street. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Diamond Street, Route 152 (East Park Avenue) and Bethlehem Pike. In addition, trucks will be directed to use Route 152 (East Walnut Street/East Park Avenue) and Bethlehem Pike.
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Built in 1922, the existing 13-foot-long, 26-foot-wide structure carries an average of 8,484 vehicles per day.

Souderton Road bridge is one of seven structures in Bucks and Montgomery counties that PennDOT is rehabilitating or replacing under this $7,987,000 project.

Loftus Construction, Inc. of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.

POST OFFICES, FEDERAL OFFICES CLOSED THURSDAY, JAN 9 FOR NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING

In observance of the national day of mourning in honor of former President Jimmy Carter, the United States Postal Service will be closed and not delivering 'regular' mail on Thursday, January 9. Package delivery will be limited.

Mail delivery will resume on Friday, January 10.

All Federal offices will also be closed on January 9.
