Veterans Memorial Coliseum – Portland, Ore.

WHAT:
The Rose Quarter Guitar Show heads to Veterans Memorial Coliseum on December 10 with vintage, new, and used guitars from iconic brands to see, buy, sell, trade, and play.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as 100 sets of C.F. Martin acoustic strings and 100 sets of Darco Electric strings will be given out at the door – first come, first serve!

Brands include Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, PRS, Marshall, Vox and more. The show is not limited to guitars as basses, amps, effect pedals, lap steels, banjos, ukes and more will be on display and available for sale.

This year’s Sponsors include Five Star Guitars, Sunday Guitars, Diablo Guitars, Anthology Gear Wear, Guitar Castle, Capital Pawn, and Northwest Vintage Guitar… plus a good mix of Vendors will be on hand (vintage guitar dealers, music stores, private collectors, and luthiers).

TICKETS: $15 (plus applicable fees) at the door

Come to the first annual ocV!BE Guitar Festival Saturday July 29th at the Honda Center in Anaheim. This gathering of the guitar community will include over 50 vendor booths for a Buy - Sell - Trade experience with vintage, new and used guitars, basses, amps and effect pedals.

Plus live performances on the Allen & Heath / BASSBOSS Main Stage. Renowned musicians including Bruce Kulick (KISS), Dave Amato of REO Speedwagon, Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr), Matt Bissonnette (Elton John), Griff Hamlin & The Single Barrel Blues Band and the Philip Sayce Band will take the stage.

10am - 5:00pm $20 Admission at the Door. Free parking!

Guitarist Friends!

PRS has stepped into the ring with three incredible offerings to the pedal landscape.

Our good friend Jeffrey B. Scott test drove them... here are some excerpts from an upcoming Gear Review.

* I’ve never used a flanger consistently before but this one makes me want to find places to use it! It’s so musical! Wind Through the Trees.

* the Horsemeat transparent overdrive sets itself apart in its ability to dial your tone in with precise detail. Your unique sound, preserved and amplified!

* optical compressors are their own unique animal, and PRS has brought this to life in Mary Cries in a great way. Easy to dial in, not overbearing or heavy-handed, this is a compressor worth owning.

Tell your drummer friends (not to mention Beatle's fans)...

Drummers - what a special thing to see at the Tacoma Guitar & Drum Festival!

Ludwig “Ringo Starr” 1963 Super Classic Drum Set.
Identical to the set Ringo Starr used through most of his tenure with The Beatles. 22×14 bass, 16×16 floor tom, 13×9 tom,14×5.25 matching “Ringo Spec” Jazz Festival snare.

This version of the Jazz Festival was made for only a very short period in 1963 when Starr, now famously acquired his first Black Oyster set.

By the time The Beatles exploded into worldwide popularity, Ludwig had already changed the hardware configuration and returned to a standard 5″ deep shell. When Beatlemania erupted in 1964 Ludwig sold thousands of Black Oyster sets with matching Jazz Festivals snares but none of them were in the “Ringo Spec” version.

This makes the "Ringo Spec" Jazz Festival one of the rarest and most coveted snares ever made with only a handful known to exist.
