I was a burned-out multi-million-dollar single specialty (general surgery) practice owner. Through the years and with increasing corporate takeover, I became overwhelmed, burned, out, and unfulfilled. I gave the best years of my life to medicine, but freedom came when I realized it was time to move on. I learned how to continue to be a high performer, but without the overwhelm and burnout. As I di

scovered this, people started asking me how to end suffering, burnout, and exhaustion yet still maintain a high level of performance. This has been my pivot. I'm living in alignment with my values without having to worry about whether a health care conglomerate agrees with my clinical decisions or if I fit in the box a hospital made for their procedure-based doctors. Freedom came when I realized I had a choice. Now I show others how to live at the highest level in alignment with their values. Every day is a great day. Suffering is optional. As an obesity doctor, I tell my patients every day to eat what you like, but find ways to add protein.

For example, pancakes have 54 grams of protein, 45 g of carbs with 20 g of fiber, and 2.8 g of fat for a total calorie count of 433

The pancakes are about 260 g of egg whites with about 33 g of oat bran. I added a little bit of Stevia, cinnamon and, and nutmeg to flavor the pancakes.

The topping is nonfat Greek yogurt with a fresh peach and Cary’s sugar-free maple syrup.

Next time I’ll add the yogurt into the pancake mix instead of as it talking to remove that distinctly sulfur egg white taste.
