✅ Get to know him:

Bob Scudder has been a hobbyist blacksmith for 22 years. He began in 2001 by apprenticing with Ron Woodruff (Wolfe City Forge) in Wolfe City, Texas. After learning the basics, Bob honed his skills at historic Civil War reenactments and living history as a member of the 173rd NYSVI out of Austin, Texas. Many of the items you make for these events are for the encampments or equipment (like heat treating a cannon worm for an artillery piece), and making rudimentary tools.
In 2005, Bob and his wife Kathleen moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where he taught introduction to blacksmithing classes at the Stillwater Multi-arts Center (rebranded as the Prairie Arts Center) for several years and participated in the Stillwater Arts Festival. As a blacksmith, he doesn’t specialize in one skill or type of item (like bladesmithing), he works in several forms of media (steels, alloys) and with various fuels (propane, coal, coke, wood) to teach and form his pieces. Come visit with him about getting started in what can become a lucrative way for your homestead to set itself apart.

🐐We're very excited to welcome back Gabriella and Esther Smith from Pilgrim's Heart Homestead as speakers and vendors for the 2025 Okie Homesteading Expo!

🎟️ GET YOUR EXPO TICKETS AT www.okiehomesteading.com

✅ Get to know them:

Pilgrim's Heart Homestead is a family-owned farm and cottage industry. It was born out of 3 young girls' love of all things farming. A love that was placed in their hearts by their late grandmother. From raising goats to chickens, gardening, and stitching frocks.

In the summer of 2022, our family of 7 made the move from a small town in Arizona where we previously raised Mini Nubian dairy goats for 6 years, and started our farm in Langley, Oklahoma, where we now raise Standard Nubian dairy goats, chickens, and guinea fowl. We also incubate and sell chicks and guinea keets, along with selling fresh goat's milk from our farm.

✅ Get to know her:

Everyone that has ever delved into Natural Health has a “Why”. My why is because I couldn’t find a Doctor who actually cared enough to find the root cause of my issues.

So, in 2008 I decided to take courses. All the rage at the time was Essential oils. I took 2 courses in Aromatherapy. The 1st one just wasn’t enough information and the 2nd filled me with an urge to learn more about the plants themselves.

Now I am a certified Aromatherapist and a certified Herbalist.

I eventually found my way into distilling. While there are a couple of courses one can take to learn how to distill, they are extremely expensive in the Pacific Northwest. With no desire to spend that kind of money, or leave my home, I purchased a small still and started learning. I’ve evolved into owning 6 copper Alembic stills where I mainly focus on Hydrosols.

I grow the Majority of the herbs & trees that I distill. For those that I can’t grow, like Frankincense or cinnamon, I purchase from organic fair-trade sources. I also turn these herbs, flowers & trees into Tinctures, Salves & Teas. As well as a plethora of cosmetics.

☀️We're so excited to welcome back Tammy Flynn from Keystone Worms as a speaker for the 2025 Okie Homesteading Expo!

🎟️Get your expo tickets here:
https://www.okiehomesteading.com/products/okie-homesteading-expo-2026

✅ Get to know her:

As the owner of Keystone Farms, Tammy Flynn has been striving to improve the planet’s soil one garden at a time. Keystone Farms is a vermiculture farm near the beautiful Keystone Lake in central Oklahoma. As a teenager, Tammy fell in love with all things gardening, with raising and selling strawberries being her first professional endeavor.

This love was sustained by having a garden and plants at home throughout her life. When Oklahoma expanded in cannabis legalization, Tammy saw a prime opportunity to pursue her love of gardening again. This didn’t hit the spot, so she began exploring soil life through worms and castings.

Tammy has found another love of hers with Keystone Farms, and that’s educating people on the benefits of vermicomposting for the soil and the garden. Helping people set up their own vermicomposting is the latest passion for Tammy.

✅ Get to know him:

Dewayne is a national speaker on all things homesteading from wildcrafting to animal husbandry. He graduated from Texas A&M at Commerce and has spent a lifetime teaching and learning. Dewayne's education started at an early age with his grandfather passing on generations of knowledge such as wood skills, edible and medicinal plants, and how to hunt, fish, and live in harmony with the land and animals. Dewayne then went on to spend a short time on the Navaho Reservation learning many of the Navaho native ways.

After graduation from college he went on to manage a 52-section ranch in west Texas, then to teach Agriculture and Biology for several years. While teaching Dewayne raised sheep, horses, cattle, and grew their own hay and grain, and formulated his own livestock feed.

After retiring, Dewayne came full circle back to teaching edible and medicinal plants, and small-scale natural agriculture. In 2016, Dewayne and his wife purchased an abandoned farm. They are now in the process of building a sustainable teaching farm to pass along Dewayne's years of experience and knowledge along with new more sustainable conservation practices.

At the forefront of Red Feather Farms, you will find TexMaster meat goats, pasture chickens, honey bees, vegetable and herb gardens, an Elderberry farm, native plants, and trees utilized for food and medicine. Red Feather Farms currently has its own private-label meat and herbal business. At Red Feather Farms you will also see sustainable and conservation practices such as, rainwater catchment, waterless toilets, and garden composting, as well as numerous soil, plant, water, and other resource conservations. We're very excited to welcome LaRaine Cihak as a speaker for our 2025 Okie Homesteading Expo!

🎟️ GET YOUR TICKETS AT:
https://www.okiehomesteading.com/

✅ Get to know her:

My name is LaRaine Cihak. My husband Chris and I live off grid on 40 acres in SE Oklahoma. We collect rainwater as our main water source and have solar for our power needs.

In the year 2000, we moved to Nebraska from our home state of Texas. This is where our homestead journey started. We had a large back yard where we started a garden. We grew a good bit of our own food as well as foraging and hunting. To preserve our bounty, Chris taught me to can! Since then, I have been canning and preserving our food.

Currently we have a garden filled with raised beds, a greenhouse and beautiful flowers. Along with our dogs and cats we also raise layer chickens, meat chickens and rabbits. We plan to add sheep to our homestead in the future.

I love sharing knowledge, learning from others and building community!

☀️We're so excited to welcome back Allie Jones with Spring Fed Family Farms as a speaker and vendor for the 2025 Okie Homesteading Expo!

🎟️ GET YOUR EXPO TICKETS AT www.okiehomesteading.com

✅ Get to know her:

Allie is the main pig girl at Spring Fed Family Farms, a family-owned and operated small farm in Bristow, Oklahoma, focused on nourishing the mind, body, and soil. She practices holistic land management with an emphasis on animal and farmer well-being because happy farmers raise happy animals, and happy pigs make better bacon. Allie rotationally grazes heritage breed pigs, through pastures and woods, farrow to finish, letting them root, graze, and be as nature intended.

Through her journey from postpartum depression to being introduced to the concept of food as medicine and becoming a passionate advocate for regenerative agriculture, Allie discovered her true calling. She had found a way to combine her love for animals, her desire to heal herself and others, and her commitment to sustainable living.

"People often ask how I can be a farmer and an animal lover. My response is that people are going to eat pork regardless. My job is to offer a product that honors the nature of the pig, regenerates the environment, and nourishes the consumer. Every pig I raise, I know I'm saving from the conventional model of factory farming and giving them a chance to live a life just as nature intended," says Allie, The Pig Girl.

Spring Fed Family Farms' mission is to educate, empower, and equip families with the knowledge and products needed to nourish and flourish.

🌿We're honored to welcome back Stewart and Ashley Clouse with Restoration Farms as Speakers for the 2025 Okie Homesteading Expo!

🎟️ GET YOUR EXPO TICKETS AT www.okiehomesteading.com

✅ Get to know them:

Stewart and Ashley grew up in rural Nebraska, spent 10 years in the big city of Dallas, RVed full-time for 3 years as a family, and after searching for a long time we decided to look in Oklahoma, and we're so glad we did. Our farm is located in the foothills of the Ozarks in the Green Country region of Oklahoma and it lives up to its name! We came to tour it and fell in love. That was almost four years ago. We've been using permaculture or regenerative farming practices to restore our land, and we hope you enjoy our progress and can catch our vision for what is possible. We love sharing the abundance of the special place we get to steward and what we are learning here with others.

We are a small, family farm…that is a small farm, large family. We are a dozen in all! Stewart works off the farm part-time and loves to play piano, good music of all kinds, and especially math. He is always learning and loves teaching and using mathematics to more deeply understand whatever he’s working on. Ashley stays home full-time with the kiddos. She loves reading, cooking, working outside, plants and flowers, and talking or playing games. She has always been a wildcrafter and herbalist. We got married almost 18 years ago adding 10 kiddos along the way. Our children are an integral part of the farm, and all have their own ventures that they’re working on their own.

We love inviting people to join us on the farm for tours, classes, and field trips to see the progress and learn along with us. Because family is so important to us we’ve strived to make our farm and all we do family-friendly.
