Change is an essential part of marketing, especially on social media! If you post about the same things over and over again, people will get tired of your posts and think “been there, done that.”

How can you keep your posts fresh? Your customers engaged?

Too many people are scared of social media because it can be addictive and easy to compare to. But the good news is that this tool is in your hands! And it is a tool - it’s a way to make other things easier to use and manage.

Think of all the different ways you can use social media to help you out:

> understand what others want and like
> practice your creative side

Hi there! My name is Mary. This is my story:

The COVID-19 pandemic brought on a lot of challenges for us, no matter what our circumstance was. I happened to be in Southern California serving as a missionary for my church when the pandemic hit. Still having a year's worth of time to serve and being across the country from home, I was unsure how to move forward and what impact this would have for my future.

Little did I realize the opportunities that lay just around the corner.

Through support and encouragement from The Church of Jesus Christ, I began to learn how to take my work online into the social media world. I attended trainings, read Facebook article after Facebook article, practiced, experimented, failed, searched some more, and began to see success with our social media team. We began to use advertisements and watched as the social media pages we had created from nothing began to grow and develop beyond what we had ever anticipated.

Through God's hand, hard work, and patient persistence, our pages have now reached over 4 million people, have had over 400K engagements, and have over 30.5K followers cumulatively. In addition, our Instagram profile has over 1K followers after a few months of activity.

I now look back in awe at the blessings I've been given and the things I never knew I would learn.

Now, as a marketing student at Brigham Young University, I have the opportunity to combine my social media advertising experience with my schooling and start helping others develop better social media strategies.
