Sent from our daughter's kindergarten teacher. If you live in Providence, and your children attends Providence's schools, you should read up and repost.
I don't know where u stand about going back to school, but Providence has NOT come up with a safe plan...back to normal with elementary students! No masks, no social distancing with desks, up to 30 children in a room, no fans, windows open or AC, children sitting for 6 hours at desks...lunch in classrooms...you wouldn't think this could be real... but guess what? This is what our superintendent, commissioner and governor have come up with.
Yet at their meetings they are only allowed 30 in a huge senate size room with dividers and masks...other districts are giving parents an option of on-line learning or in-school! They have not come up with an adequate plan of safety...I ask u to take action...we have power in numbers!!! Thank you in advance!
Action for Friday!!!!

Please call Gov. Raimondo's office at 401-222-2080
and RIDE Commissioner Infante-Green’s office at 401-222-8700
Our sources tell us that a significant number of superintendents and elected officials don’t think it’s safe to reopen schools, but Gina and RIDE have told them in no uncertain terms that they MUST open. Don’t let this insanity stand! Today (and for as many days as you are willing) let’s flood Gina’s and Angélica’s voicemail boxes with our righteous indignation. Call, call and call again! They cannot ignore 5,000 of us (and growing)!
Some potential scripts/talking points if you want them. We left the reasons part blank so you could speak your minds and add that personal touch:
