The Alembic

The Alembic The Alembic is the international journal published yearly by Providence College. We accept poetry, fiction, and photography.

Our own talented students, along with artists and writers from around the world, submit their works to be published in this distinguished journal. Submission Guidelines

Submissions are read from August 1st through December 7th. Any unsolicited material that is not accompanied by a self-addressed envelope and the appropriate return postage will not be returned to the sender. The Alembic accepts no

responsibility for unsolicited materials. All unsolicited material that is not returned to the sender will be disposed of after three months. We encourage potential contributors to become familiar with the journal. The subscription rate in the United States is $25 for two years and sample copies are available for $15. The Finer Details

Poetry submissions may include up to 5 poems. Fiction submissions should not exceed 7,000 words. We accept short stories, drama, and self-contained excerpts of novels. Photography submissions must be in a digital format with 300dpi resolution. Simultaneous submissions are permitted. If your work is accepted for publication elsewhere, please contact the editors immediately. Materials published in The Alembic may not be reprinted, in whole or in part, without written permission from the editors. For Students:

Please submit by December 7th by emailing [email protected]. Attach in your email a digital copy of your submission, your name, and your school email. We accept fiction (under 7,000 words), poetry, and photography.
