Special Guest DJ and Pontiac Streator sprinkle their sub-heavy ambient magic dust all over this record, from the rolling jungle of “holodeck blue” through the chillout room dub of “trippin” to the sexy club stepper of “days go by”. If you don’t know this label, get to know it, and if you already do…this record is one of their best. A Jackson Delay favorite I know for sure.

DJ ojo- Coiled up on Blank Mind
Really strong debut ep from DJ ojo, plenty of sub-bass and intricate rhythm work applied with delicate subtlety. The title track wrings true to its name, twisting and contorting dancers in dubwise. “Precise Devices” gets a little darker and denser, pushing along with a real nice infectious groove. The b-side brings the tempo down with a funky dembow beat on “Sprung Out” while “Skip Top” chugs on with a froggy groove. Imagine dancing all loose-limbed to this in a dripping rainforest.
One for the nuanced ravers.

Abby Echiverri is a young producer based in Brooklyn, NY, whose intense curiosity has led her to take on a variety of roles as a musician, sound engineer, DJ and VJ. Her releases include a track on the 15 Years of the Bunker compilation followed by her debut EP on The Bunker NY, entitled Ab Initio, which has garnered a number of positive reviews. As a live musician, Echiverri’s left-field musical influences, deft hardware manipulations, and experienced engineering meld into an inventive interpretation of techno.
