A celebration of Myrl Moran’s life will be held at the Melon Patch from 4-6 pm, August 8th.

If you are joining her celebration, here are some tidbits to keep in mind:

This will be an outside gathering. There will be fresh air and shady trees, cold beverages and vittles served with covid considerations. There will be gallons of hand sanitizer available.

Please bring a lawn chair and wear a mask. Tables for small groups will be set up with distance between.

Please park on the side of the driveway and/or road if you are able. That will maximize space for social distancing for the gathering. For those whom the hike up the driveway is too much, please know you are welcome to park in the yard.

If you have a story, poem or music to share, space will be held for you. Otherwise, just come to mingle at a safe distance, and enjoy the company of others that loved Myrl.

We understand these are extraordinary times, and gathering may not be an option for many who would typically want to honor Myrl’s life by coming together.

Melon Patch friends
Dan Moran has died. He made the transition with the love of his life Myrl Reecy Moran and many family members by his side.

He had a long and lovely life, full of adventure and joy.
The Melon Patch was a midlife career change for Myrl and Dan, one they both really enjoyed!
He loved growing all those beautiful herbs and vegetables for you ... and the flowers, how he adored them.
Will you pick up a packet of seeds today? Or maybe three or four? Put your fingers in the soil, and say his name as you watch them grow.?
Party plans will follow.

Back at the Melon Patch!
Farmer Dan is home, Still working on regaining his health and agility. Darn glad to be reunited with Myrl, Dakota and the crazy farm cat!

Farmer Dan will be heading home this Friday! He has made the most of his rehabilitation time and is eager to get back to his natural habitat,and is especially eager to spend time with Myrl and Dakota.

An update for all of our Melon Patch People.
Grandson Patrick Moran has been with Dan for the past 7 days, we asked him for today’s news.

“I don’t think i can give you any good copy, but I’ll tell you he has a great appetite and is reading a time magazine front to back. Memory and speech, along with right leg are improving quickly “
“He’s in a good mood, he thought I was buying all of his meals in the dining room he was very grateful “

Myrl Makes it down almost every day, and would hitch a ride if you’re headed to the city!

The Mail has been wonderful!

We are so grateful that Dan is able to rehab at the Courage Center, his therapists are amazing.
