Neil was privileged to help film the remarkable leap of faith by the goslings who were hatched in the Decorah eagle nest. While RRP nest cam operators captured the footage from the nest, Neil waited below while the goslings gathered their courage and was able to follow them to the ground where five out of the six were united with their parents and took their first swim.

North America's smallest falcons were at it again this spring on Bird Cams! Watch the best nuggets from the American Kestrel nest box as the adults worked around the clock to raise four wily nestlings from hatch to fledge in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

Thanks to our partners at the Raptor Resource Project for helping us share another season with these pint-sized (and loud!) birds of prey.

"Wings Over Water", the IMAX film we worked on for several years, had a great night at the Giant Screen Cinema Association/IMAX annual award ceremony last night. It was awarded won Best Short Film, Best Cinematography, Best Sound, and Best Lifetime Learning awards. We're proud to have been involved in this important conservation story and loved working with its wonderful crew. Watch it at an IMAX theater near you - seeing it on a big screen in 3D is an experience!

After a month spent working in the Alaskan arctic this summer, Neil is now filming much closer to home. He’s capturing prairie flowers and their pollinators in our own tall grass prairie that’s right outside our door. But you don’t need 45 acres of pollinator plants to provide food and habitat for these beauties - even in a small yard you can plant a few wildflower seeds and keep an area that isn’t mowed.

We are so happy to share that after many years of hard work, challenges and disappointments, a new Philippine Eagle has hatched at the PEF! Each bird is truly precious and a gift to the Foundation, the Philippines, and the world. Congratulations to all who worked so hard to make this succeed!

We are so thrilled to announce the much-awaited hatching of the 29th Philippine eagle chick at the PEC! Congratulations to new eagle parents Ariela and MVP Matatag! 🐣

Chick no. 29 hatched on December 4 at 1:16 p.m., 25 hours and 13 minutes since it first poked its beak and cracked the egg. Seems like a long time, but actually it is the fastest pip-to-hatch record in our breeding program. This chick just couldn’t wait to say hello to the world! 😍

Neil has arguably spent as much time filming bald eagles as anyone on the planet - so it seems fitting that this pair has chosen to build a nest on our property, in view from our house! We feel honored by their presence and are determined to protect them while we watch them carefully craft their new home.

This is one of the young birds we filmed as a juvenile on the nest during our expedition for “Bird of Prey“ and “To Save Our Eagle“ 7 years ago. It’s wonderful to see her still thriving in the wild and we hope she will soon start a new generation of Philippine eagles and contribute to the knowledge of the breeding and nesting behavior and habitat of these rare birds.
