Powell High School was buzzing Saturday with the sounds of dozens of little propellers. Several students from PHS and Powell Middle School competed in the Drone Flight Expo and Challenge. Genius Hour 2021
Powell Middle School sixth grade students were bused into the Northwest College Nelson Performing Arts Center last month for the annual Genius Hour. A total of 125 students gave presentations on a wide variety of topics from science to art to sports. PMS Science Teacher, Necole Hanks said the event is about students getting excited to learn about something they care about."
Every year, churches around Powell hold a Thanksgiving community meal. They had to cancel last year, but the event was back again this year. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Elementary Entertainment
Residents and healthcare employees at the Powell Valley Care Center watched Westside Elementary students sing and dance for some morning entertainment last week at the center. The students from Westside Elementary School sang several songs and did the Virginia Reel square dance as their final act.
Roman Wilson, Nick Mundy, Forrest Mundy and Silas Ward pour concrete Wednesday for the new patio at the Powell Golf Club Clubhouse. A few companies were involved with the operation, including J&F Concrete Pumping LLC, AW Hunt Construction Inc., Mountain Construction Company, Big Horn Redi Mix Inc., and Sletten Construction Company.
