If you've have not seen the film yet, and want to be part of taking action on creating more housing in our communities, come to the Portsmouth Library tomorrow, December 3rd at 6:30pm, for a screening of my documentary film "Communities & Consequences II - Rebalancing New Hampshire's Human Ecology". The film will be followed with an action-oriented panel discussion, moderated by Taylor Cray from the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast, on tangible steps we can take to create more vibrant and balanced communities.

Looking forward to the next screening of my doc film "Communities & Consequences II", being presented by the Home For All Coalition at the Portsmouth Public Library December 3rd from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. I'm happy to serve on a fantastic post-film discussion panel. The focus is on taking action, now more than ever to ensure more age-balanced, vibrant communities by creating more of the housing we need in these communities. The screening and discussion is open to the public.

My company JBC Communications has been pivoting more and more towards telling stories through our documentary film that serve as tools for mission driven organizations. We joke that JBC was focusing on the power of effective storytelling before "storytelling" became a catchphrase 😆. These films can still be a one-hour doc, but increasingly they are short episodic modules, that are meant to not simply be viewed on a website, but utilized (even downloaded and loaded onto a thumbdrive) as real tools to assist those advocating for missions that serve communities.

Fantastic JBC brand film shoot for Bigbelly in the streets of Manchester, NH. We're capturing stories and flexible content to deploy in a new brand film, and additional content for social media. The crux of the story is Bigbelly improves and beautifies the places and environments where you find them. Additional shoot taking place in multiple locations around the Boston area, NH, and the Portland International Jetport-Maine in Maine. At JBC we were master storytellers before "story" became trendy. It's always at the core of what we do. Let us tell YOUR story!

Digging in at 6th Annual Housing We Need Roundtable Forum. Some stories of success creating housing in communities and "Eureka!' none of them have "threatened" or "ruined" the character or quality of life in these communities. 🤔

Well it's a start that more people say they agree we need zoning changes to get more housing built. Now it's about talking action. Remember 100% of people who show up to speak AGAINST workforce and more affordable housing say they, of course, support building more workforce housing ... just not "Here" in their community. We need folks to work with their local land-use officials to craft what these zoning changes will look like, and then show up to support these changes.

At a time of record rents and home prices, nearly four in five Granite Staters think their communities need more affordable housing, according to a new survey.

So good to see "Communities & Consequences" alum James Key-Wallace this morning at the "NH BIA Small Business Day" event in Concord. We interviewed James as one of the young movers and shakers in NH for the film back in 2007. James is now Executive Director of the NH Business Finance Authority. Well done James!
