Norfolk apartment fire aftermath
Norfolk Fire-Rescue responded to an apartment fire early Sunday morning that damaged multiple units. Crews were called to the 900 block of Scott Street. They arrived on the scene, to find heavy fire coming from an apartment building. Crews attacked the fire from inside and outside of the building. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. No other injuries have been reported. Officials say 12 apartments (some vacant) were affected by the fire and at least 10 people have been displaced. Body found in water near Norfolk Airport
Norfolk Police are investigating an undetermined death after a body was found in the water, near the airport Friday morning. Officials confirmed they received a call around 10:15 a.m. about a possible body in the water near the bridge that leads to the Norfolk airport, in the area of Norview Ave. and Azalea Garden Rd.
Police said the investigation is impacting traffic in the area.

Drone 10 over the Chilean Navy tall ship Esmeralda the is docked in Norfolk. Norfolk FestEvents announced the ship will be docked next to Waterside from Sunday, August 6 to Thursday, August 10. Norfolk’s actually the ship’s only U.S. port stop during its 2023 training sail cruise. The 372-foot vessel will be open to the public for free tours at these times before it leaves at 4 p.m. on August 10.
Chopper 10 on the scene: Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at the T-Shirt Factory in the 2600 block of Atlantic Avenue at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront that began Tuesday afternoon. Multiple Virginia Beach Fire Department units have been on the scene for more than three hours and Atlantic and Pacific avenues are closed for several blocks in the area. Drone 10 over fire aftermath in Sandbridge
Drone 10 over the scene: A house fire broke out early Wednesday morning on Sand Bend Road in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach. Three people escaped without injuries, VBFD is investigating. More information on wavy.com.
