Next time while driving through our community notice how many damaged power poles are leaning and barely standing. In some cases with either power or telecommunications wires still attached. This continues to be an issue where the major utilities don't follow up and secure these poles correctly. As your Senator I was motivated by a story of a young boy that was hit by a falling pole in 2015 and was ready to champion legislation that would have held utility companies accountable and imposed fines if the poles weren't properly removed and replaced within weeks rather then years. Another good reason for it was A Goodwin for Virginia

This is so wrong at all levels. As your Senator I would have champion new legislation that any vehicles used in this manor once impounded would be destroyed not sold or returned to the owner. This goes for ATVs as well.

As I said it before I say it again. You play with fire you get smoke. The game was played on the skill game operators and the businesses they supported. I, as the Senator from District 18 could have made this a deal that would have worked for all.

If you sell the roads off of course this happens. Some would make you want to believe that since a legislator fights for toll relief today it makes them a hero. Old saying goes that if you lite the match to start the fire you can't claim you are the hero for trying to put it out.

This may come as little to no surprise to some Virginia drivers, but a new study, conducted by LendingTree, has found that Virginia has the most expensive interstate toll roads per mile.

You know Facebook asks me all the time "What's on my mind?" Did you realize the budget presentation at city council on 5/14/24 will be considered at a cost of $6785.00 per citizen to run the City of Portsmouth when the national average is around $3000.00. WE DON'T HAVE AN INCOME PROBLEM, WE HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM.
November 5th is a good time to change this.

The casino business in VA is looking more and more like how things were done by the mob. Only difference is we have elected bodies playing a part of these negotiations. The question you have to ask is how close does the Petersburg deal have to the Norfolk casino delay? Things that make you go hmmmm?

A week before the Petersburg City Council voted to pick Cordish Companies to potentially build a casino, the city manager signed a letter saying the city council intended to pick a competing company.
