My name is Michael Richeson, and I want to completely change the gi review game. The Gi Insider was born when my love of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Video Production collided with frustration. I could never find any high-quality gi review videos that showed me what I wanted to know. The world didn’t need another copycat gi review site, but it did need a site that showcased kimonos through studio-quali
ty video. So I thought, “Hey, I own a video production company, and I love Jiu-Jitsu. Why don’t I make the kind of gi review I’d want?”
My goal is to give you, the viewer, as much useful information as I can. I describe the gi, show off all the design elements, show you how it fits, let you watch the gi in action and then give you an honest opinion. People love gis that I hate, and they hate gis that I love. I don’t think it’s my job to tell you what to buy. These reviews are about highlighting the product as best I can and then letting you decide if you want it or not. I’ve been asked a few times so I’ll answer this here: NO, I do not get paid by gi companies for these reviews. They send me a gi, obviously, but that is all. Every gi review is an independent production that I create. GET MORE REVIEWS
Are you on social media? Do you follow your favorite gi brands? Please comment and let them know that you’d like to see their products showcased on The Gi Insider. I contact as many companies as I can, but a lot of times that stuff gets ignored or lost in email hell. Requests from their customers will get their attention much, much faster. And that means a lot more gi reviews for you! WIN FREE STUFF
I only need a few gis. Most of what I get in for reviews will be given away. If you’d like to receive gi reviews a couple days before I make the videos public, and if you’d like to the chance to win a free gi, sign up to be a part of The Gi Insider email list. I swear to the Jiu-Jitsu gods that you will never receive any spam. Email subscribers will get the latest video review and announcements about gi contests. You can kimura me if I break that promise. I’m always open to your suggestions and wants. Feel free to contact me through Facebook, YouTube or Instagram, and emails are always welcome. [email protected]
Thank you! I’m a purple belt, and I train at Impact Jiu-Jitsu in Oregon.
