How I would explain tonight’s show for someone who has no idea what they’re walking into…. These are world class, performance based DJs. Not just a bunch of heart hands and excessive dancing in the DJ Booth. Yes, there will be dancing (on the dance floor) I’m sure… but this leans more towards a performance based DJ show, more-so than a just dance party.
DJ Qbert is a legendary, Bay Area turntable technician. Many people consider him the Jimi Hendrix of scratching. Always innovating and elevating the craft.
DJ Abilities was one half of the underground Minneapolis Hip-Hop group called “Eyedea & Abilities.” Known for his dynamic DJ sets, often incorporating visuals and elite turntablism into his well curated DJ performances.
As for me, I’ll be warming up the crowd for these beasts. My all-vinyl set starts at 9:30PM sharp. I’m bringing a couple of crates of records that I don’t get the opportunity to play very often. Expect some heavy ass head-nod beats… and of course some scratching too… maybe even some beat juggling. I’ll do a vibe check when I get there, and determine what direction to steer the musical journey. I will say this… Expected the unexpected.

Just acquired a few new crates of heat! The homie was parting ways with his collection, and he wanted to make it a priority to get these into the hands of someone who would appreciate and respect them. But most importantly, he wanted to get these into the hands of someone who would continue sharing these tunes with fellow music lovers and vinyl enthusiasts. That said, I must admit… he found the right new home.
These don’t belong in a basement collecting dust. These deserve a continued lifespan of making people smile and dance… and that’s exactly what I intend to do with them. In fact, I’m planning on bringing some of these records with me to the Luchini party this Saturday at the Spare Room, which will be packed (like it always is), so be sure to arrive early.
I’m looking forward to sharing some of these new joints with you this Saturday. There’s so much fire in these crates! 🔥🔥🔥

Hip-Hop… in case you didn’t know.
Aug 2nd in Hood River, Oregon. I’m looking forward to spinning some records at the 17th annual “Breakin’ in the Gorge” B-boy battle.
If you live in the Portland area, take a little adventure over to Hood River on Aug 2nd. It’s only about a 50 minute drive from Portland. The event will be outdoors on a beautiful Friday evening, plus it’s family friendly (all ages welcome), and it’s free! This is always a fun, entertaining, exciting event. Put it on your calendar, and come get some authentic Hip-Hop culture in your life. Peace!✌️
