Less than a week after all Lisbon high school football related activities had been suspended due to an alleged hazing incident, 7 students have now been suspended from the football team, the Lisbon schools superintendent said today.

We are now finding out there are two separate investigations going on involving hazing allegations one being the through the Lisbon police department and the other through the school.

No details have been released about the hazing incident and parents we spoke with in Lisbon today say they have no comment until more information is released.

To find out more about what school officials and law enforcement has to say about this, watch FOX 23 at 10, and CBS 13 at 11.

I am back in Lisbon today,

Earlier this week I spoke with multiple residents in the community who told their concerns about the color, smell, and taste of their water.

Below I will attach images sent in by Erin Knudson
After speaking speaking with multiple town officials we were referred to Lisbon Water Department, as the town officials said “we have no operational oversight over the water department”

After speaking with the interm general manager of Lisbon water department, I was sent a statement and in it stated
“ While it is not very appetizing, it IS safe to drink and use “ (the water)

This statement was then released to the p***c from Lisbon Water Department.

Not even four hours later a new issue was released, a Do Not Drink The Water order. (Attached below)

This statement was posted on the Lisbon water department page, this caused many restaurants and local businesses to close as they were advised for safety concerns.

The do not drink the water was put out because of high levels of arsenic in the waters according to the senate republicans office
“Arsenic is an odorless and tasteless element present in Maine’s ground water due natural deposits and from agricultural and industrial sources. According to the Maine CDC, exposure to arsenic can result in severe health effects including stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting; thickening and discoloration of the skin; numbness in hands and feet; partial paralysis; and blindness. Prolonged exposure or exposure to large doses can be fatal.”

This morning an Emergency alert was sent out, also attached.

The town of Lisbon then posted on Facebook that “Water is available for affected Lisbon Water Department customers”

According to this post, affected residents can get a supply of bottled water.
“One case per household. Our supply is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.”

Today we made our way back up to Lisbon and spoke with affected Residents, Restaurant owners, Lisbon Water Department, and volunteers, and The Maine CDC.

In the meantime Maine lawmakers responded to this issue. In the a statement sent out by the senate republican office,

They said Shellie Reynolds the interim general manager for Lisbon Water Department said that filters have been replaced and a water quality test sample was sent to New Hampshire. Dr. Puthiery Va, the director for the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), told lawmakers that test results will be available by this afternoon if not sooner.
