It took a few attempts to find a good mic'ing technique at the new location, but i found this works quite well now on several sessions.

2 Cathedral Pipes Microphones above the felts and a couple Coles 4038s outside the piano.

This could all change as a couple CMC5s will be on their way soon!

Hello music community! Is there really interest in immersive mixing for your albums, or is this a passing fad like all other attempts for surround in music have been? It's quite expensive to do it correctly and I'm just not sure I want to make that investment.

I'm not big on promoting plugins and such, but here's one that bears mentioning. This is by far the most transparent compression I've used to date in the digital domain. Thanks George Massenburg Labs for getting this plugin so dialed. It's very reminiscent of the 8900!

Here's an orchestration I did for Cristopher James recorded at Power Station. It was a stellar group of people to work with on this project! Rob Mathes conducting (and fixing a few of my notation errors), a great rhythm section that included Jim Beard on piano, John Patitucci on bass and Antonio Sánchez on drums. Tracked by Kevin Killen and mixed by me.

It always a great adventure to work with Chris and I'm looking forward to a. few more projects that are getting underway!

Barefoot Sound MM45s have changed my life. They are incredible monitors and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to be serious about their mixing and their end product. I understand that monitors are a subjective subject but these were love at first listen and I think many of my fellow engineers/mixers would have the same impression.
