Executives Association https://oregonexecutives.com/ has proven to be a great resource of quality business owners and business executives. I recently needed some handiwork done that was beyond my ability; I had met Badger at an OEA weekly luncheon and requested a quote for service. Jake and Kelcie were prompt with a reply and clear in their scope of work and quote for services. Upon agreement we moved ahead with scheduling the work which was very easy. They were on time, and even placed a vehicle at my location prior to the appointment; they completed the work more than satisfactorily in less than the time quoted and even tried to charge me less than the original quote. Jake's use of technology is impressive and both he and Kelcie are strong problem solvers. In addition to keeping the duo on schedule Kelcie has a quick wit and is both fun and funny. They make a great team and I'm glad to have worked with them; I will hire them again.

I was speaking recently with a client that said they were spending a lot of time completing payroll - I suggested outsourcing Payroll and was met with a scoff and " thanks but it's not worth it"
According to at least one reputable poll 39% of businesses outsource payroll - here's some good reasons to consider outsourcing your business payroll.
1) Time savings
2) Money savings; Time is money...
3) More/Better security
4) Local, State and Federal Government Compliance
5) Expertise
6) Improved experience for employees

Clover paper roll sizes: someone called today wanting to know what paper sizes fit in the Clover devices: The Flex will hold 2.25" x 50' up to 2.25 x 74' as long as you get the small core rolls, the small core is 7/16" for those that want to know. The Mini will hold, 2.25" x 50' up to 2.25 x 95', i'm confident it would take a 2.25" x 110' but I didn't have any to test The 2.25" x 180' won't fit.
The station and station 2 printers hold the 3 1/8" x 220', 230' and 273' just fine.

CLOVER FLEX RE SET
My Clover Flex screen turned blue filckered then turned black, it wouldn’t turn on regardless of how long I held down the power button - as it turned out, It needed a re-set. To re-set, make sure the flex is not on the charging station; hold the power button in for a solid 60 seconds, then add 10 seconds because you always count fast…let go of the power button and set on the charging station - if you hear the familiar “beep” of charging you know you’ve held the power button down for a full minute - the clover logo will appear and you can remove from the charging station and power up. If this isn’t successful, repeat the steps holding the power button in longer each time. If you’re not successful after 2 tries call clover support @ (855) 853-8340

Verifone VX 520 Change Batch Report Type
A client called wanting to know how to change the report type that prints after batching- they’re currently printing a detail report and want a totals report. Here’s the steps to complete that at terminal level: 1) press the Green Enter Key 2) enter the PW 1 Alpha Alpha 66831 then press enter 3) scroll down using the far left purple button until you see Merchant ID’s on the screen 4) select the F button to the right of Merchant ID’s 5) select Next with the F key until you see PRT STTL RPTS 6) Press F3 to edit 7) select Next until you see the desired report type show up on the bottom left of the screen under NEW: 7)Choose Select with the corresponding F key to the right of the screen 8) Press the F Key corresponding with EXIT 9) Press the F key corresponding with OK if you are ok with Saving the change 10) press the red X key to get back to the main screen

DL Instant Accept app for Quickbooks Credit Card Processing Integration

A customer called this week wanting to know how to download he Instant Accept app that integrates processing with quickbooks. To do that go to app.instantaccept.com and use your login credentials. Then go to IA plugin Downloads and download the version matching your QB either POS or Financial.

"You took $1,000 from me, isn't that enough??"

When you get your monthly statement, there are three entities who are getting paid processing fees on that statement.

Banks
Brands
Processor

Banks= The credit card company; the banks that issue – credit and debit cards -like Chase, Capital One, Wells Fargo, Citi, Credit union, etc.

Brands= Visa & MasterCard (Discover and Amex act as banks and brands)

Processor = Me

A client asked me, “Hey, we give you $1,000 every month. How much of that do you get?”

Out of that thousand dollars that shows up on your processing statement, this is roughly where it goes:

💰$700 of it goes to Chase, Citi, Capital One etc
💰$150 goes to Visa & MasterCard, and
💰$150goes to the processor, like Basis Point

In this case, this business was paying about $1000 a month in total processing fees.

I simply showed the business owner where the money went, who was getting what, how much my minimum was, and how that saved him money.

That other $850 is there no matter who sends your statement.

The question is how much is your processor charging above that $850.
