New event announcement!

AEPDX is back for its next event on Thursday May 25th @ Autodesk! We’ll explore the role that CG animation has played in the success of stop motion animation, especially with the long history and bright future of feature films, short films, and commercials right here in Portland.

Join us for an evening of meeting others in the stop motion and digital animation community, with special presentations by some of Portland’s most influential industry leaders. Speakers will be announced over the next few days, so stay tuned!

We had a great time reconnecting with the Portland animation and design community at the March AEPDX event! There’s a lot more to come this year. 2023 will be full of events with more opportunities to learn, connect, and collaborate.

As many of you know, we’ve planned our next event for May 25th. We’re excited to explore the wide-ranging topic of stop motion animation and how CG animation is playing a growing role in the medium. In order to showcase a variety of perspectives, we’re opening speaker submissions to the whole community! We’re looking for deeply experienced individuals working in stop motion pipelines that have embraced CG animation. Please contact Jared Hobbs ([email protected]) if you are interested in speaking.

For future events, we’re also looking for input from group members of what they would like to see this year. Are you interested in learning more about a specific topic from industry experts? Are you, or someone you know, interested in speaking at an upcoming event? Have a wild idea for an event that is so crazy it just might work?
