Find Your Own Reading Groove!
Well, this is just some pure silliness - but all kidding aside - we are such fans of Laurette Klier of Nana's Books and Luke Gilligan of Resense Register.
We are dedicated and serious about providing adaptive, accessible reading materials so that people of all abilities can continue to engage with the world around them. Each of our publications is different, but the heart, intention and love of the craft goes into each page, each image, each story. So, thank you, Laurette and Luke for sharing the dance floor! You are both such a positive vibe!

Mirador Magazine's Nikki Jardin will be back in Kansas City, MO for the 4th Annual Night of Hope Gala on Saturday, June 8th. Last year's event was so lovely and it's been wonderful seeing the work @thenightofhope has been up to this past year.
The Night of Hope believes that together we can champion brain health, embrace early detection, empower prevention, and explore the potential for cognitive reversal.
So, if you're in the Kansas City area, please join us!

Many thanks to Lori La Bey and Alzheimer's Speaks for welcoming me, along with Laurette Klier of Nana's Books, Luke Gilligan of Resense and Eric Kolb of Songs & Smiles for a lovely conversation about the necessity for adaptive publications for our community.
I loved hearing from my colleagues about what moved them to work in this particular genre and the good work they are putting forth into the world. And, as always, I'm so appreciative of Lori La Bey - her knowledge and passion always shines through!

It's funny sometimes, how we can miss what is right in front of us! As I was walking back to my car I just happened to look up and see a big, beautiful mural by Ernesto Maranje. We featured Ernesto in Volume 6: Skylines and Avenues, and he was gracious enough to let us put one of his works on his cover. I knew there were two of his murals in Portland, but I hadn't seen this one before. He is such an amazing artist, and you really get the power of his imagery live and in person. So, thank you, Ernesto for your gift of public art!

In Mirador Magazine Volume 12: Tea and Tap we introduced a new contributor, Alexis Baker from Bridgetown Music Therapy! She wrote up a rhythmic exercise that is super fun, and easy to do! It's an added bonus that Alexis and Bridgetown's Life Enrichment Specialist Lindsey Bretzman live nearby - so we got together to try it out!
