Had to have a little fun with the cold this morning 😂 hope everyone is staying warm!
5:05am: Our quick-hitting storm is just about done as steady snow continues to wind down. Light snow/flurries will continue through around 8 am or so, but otherwise things are improving. A cold, sunny, and breezy day with areas of blowing snow is ahead. #mewx
Good morning! We had a coating of snow in many areas overnight to freshen things up. Be on the lookout for some slick spots this morning. Otherwise, expect a sunny start this AM! Snow showers will mainly be confined to the mountains today. #mewx
Good afternoon! It's a snowy Saturday and it continues to fall at a light to moderate pace across most of Maine, this will be the case into the evening hours. 1.7" of snow measured so far in Portland makes this the most snow since a month ago. Roads are a mess! #mewx
Cities with snow right now: Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, Little Rock, Dallas, Oklahoma City
Cities with NO snow on the ground: Portland, Boston, and most of New England!
A very unusual occurrence with a big winter storm moving through the south. #mewx
10am: Hefty little snow shower has developed over the lakes region. Quick coatings and some slick roads possible with this as it moves slowly to the south into York county. #mewx
❄️❄️ Happy Friday eve! Another blustery and cold morning out there, but this time with some snow showers moving through the state. A quick coating will be possible through the morning. Anyone seeing any accumulation? #mewx
Keeping a close eye on the next winter storm coming down the pipeline. It will likely bring plenty of wintry weather to the southern US. The big question for us in Maine is does this storm come to the north, or continue on an eastward track out to sea? Right now the most likely scenario is the storm continues out to sea, but a more amped up storm with at least a little snow in Maine remains possible. Here's my thoughts this AM:
2025 starting off absolutely soaking wet across central and southern Maine with heavy rain pouring down. It's heavy snow in the mountains with messy travel there through the day today. Wettest this morning, drying out a bit this afternoon! #mewx
NYD rain/snow timing: Heavy rain and mountain snow begins late tonight, heaviest in the AM hours tomorrow. Snow rates will be 1-2" per hour at times in the mountains. Lighter precip expected for the afternoon with everything wrapping up tomorrow night. #mewx
Hope you're having a good weekend! After a foggy night tonight, we'll see a cloudy Sunday with highs near 40. Rain will hold off for most until tomorrow afternoon and evening, with steady rain arriving for Monday along with mild temps near 50. Dry weather returns NYE! #mewx
Good evening everyone!! A very rare appearance from me tonight on CBS13/Fox23 filling in for Charlie. Another calm and beautiful day is coming to a close, but things look to turn more active and milder heading through the weekend. Tune in for the forecast tonight! #mewx
