I've been shouting this from the rooftops for months, I truly believe that NOW is the best time to buy. When inflation gets under control and we see interest rates come down, the market will flood with buyers and prices will surge.

Why am I voting Yes?

Aside from my belief that a school campus is a place that should inspire our children, that providing a space with a comfortable learning environment is critical to student success, and that maintaining facilities where students WANT to spend time during & after school is critical to building our future leaders, my own why is a bit more selfish.

I selfishly want my property value to stop being diminished because our school campus and facilities are an eyesore and not desirable to homebuyers. I want my clients to have more buyers interested in their homes and get top dollar when they sell. I want families relocating to the area to stop selecting other districts for their children to attend because our facilities are rundown and unsafe. I want in-district families to stop sending their athletes to nearby districts (along with their child’s annual State funding of $9608) to avoid injury and enhance their sports experience.

These improvements are critical. If voters do not get out and vote Yes on May 7th, we will be right back on your doorstep this August for another vote as these funds are THAT critical.

What is a Zero Mill Increase?

The school tax millage would remain exactly where it is with ZERO increase in the millage. How? With several existing bonds maturing, the district can sell bonds for dire capital improvements without increasing the millage. The State of Michigan offers incentives to maintain a minimum school levy of 7 mills, exactly where we are and exactly where we are asking voters to maintain. Nothing more. Nothing extravagant. Vote Yes.
