Radio station equipment works hard! 24 hours a day, seven days a week, week after week, month after month, year after year, until (with little - to no warning) it reaches what we call “end of life” and this stuff is expensive!

Radio of Hope station equipment has been sharing the Good News about Jesus, since 2011; more than a dozen years of, non-stop, service to the Kingdom.

We have recently had some major equipment failures! Air conditioning units, mountain-top antenna systems, critical unscheduled maintenance, and all of this has blown a big hole in our finances.

We’re still operating (but, just barely) and we really need your help!

Radio of Hope needs to raise around $20,000.00 to get through this season of ”when it rains, it pours”, repairs.

We try not to cry wolf unnecessarily, but the need is serious! Please help in any way you can!

In the current age of near-total transition, from physical recording to all-digital technology, it is amazing to see how far and tiny "modern" recording has come. Although still used in many places, including the Radio of Hope Studios, magnetic tape performs well. We are still rescuing many items, into the digital realm, for use on-air! Cool tech! 😎

Tape coated with powdered iron compounds was invented by the Dresden engineer Fritz Pfleumer in 1927. He used a paper strip, upon which hardened steel dust was set with varnish. This magnetic tape was far superior in acoustic quality to the previously used steel wire recorders.

In 1928, Pfleumer built the first magnetic tape device with which the tapes could be played. In 1932, Pfleumer sold the rights to use his magnetic tape to AEG.

Monday through Saturday our audiobook program titled "Book Books" is heard at 2:00pm and 9:30 PM. These are all the biographies of significant people in history! Currently, we are airing D.L. In addition to the 2023 Camp Meeting in Auburn, Washington we also appeared at the Jefferson County Fair and the "All County Picnic" at H.J. Carroll Park in Chimacum. In addition to our base message of "Jesus and what He has done for you" we displayed the merits of Oly-Comm and how we stay connected to information in the field for times of emergency and disaster. www.radioofhope.org/Oly-Comm

As our regular listeners know, the Radio of Hope on-air lead-in to Christmas generally begins just after Thanksgiving. Gradually, but steadily, we add more special content until Christmas day when we pull out all the stops (you organists will know what that means) and (here is something for the farmers) go whole hog the entire day!

This December 25th will be no different so be ready for special programming mixed in with our special Christmas musical offerings. We'll have MANY Christmas In My Heart stories read by author and compiler Joe Wheeler, The Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado and many regular programs like Your Story Hour, Unshackled and Nightsounds with a special focus on this blessed event in world history. Today is the day! To properly understand what is happening in any situation it is often best to go back to the beginning and that works very well regarding origins!

Charles Darwin may have titled his book ”On the Origin of Species” but he presented little beyond mere speculation to actually support his claims.

Creation Scientist Dr. Stan Hudson, heard on Sink the Beagle each week on Radio of Hope, will be live in Port Townsend this morning, October 2nd at the Adventist Church, 331 Benton Street.

Beginning at 9:30 with the origin of the oceans Dr. Hudson will progress through the morning and the afternoon explaining the origin of dinosaurs and conclude with the origin of the earth itself.

Safe driving means looking in the rear-view mirror, wise living, does too! Origins and destinations are closely related. Get the information you need before a “recalculation” is too late.

It may not be all that pretty, but here are some photos of the workaround placed into service until the replacement, "industrial-strength" UPS, arrives by truck (hopefully by Thursday). The thoughts and prayers of our listening family are appreciated.

At this point the cost is going to be around $1,700.00 including shipping. As with all UPS units, the more the power, the more the cost (the weight too). Please mark any specified gifts "UPS" and we'll know how to log them in as they arrive. Our sincere thanks to all who help us do what radio does in thousands of homes every day!

Greetings to all of our listening family members!

Today was an interesting and eventful day at Radio of Hope. We know this was not lost on you as we answered numerous calls concerning "we can't hear our favorite radio station, what's wrong?!" We experienced a major studio equipment failure earlier today, around 12:50pm Pacific Time and only returned to the air at 6:32pm. It's one of those single-points-of-failure that is difficult to completely avoid. Our temporary repairs are somewhat fragile and additional on-air outages may be experienced until Thursday when new permanent equipment is expected to arrive, by truck, with installation to follow. It all depends upon how stable the power from the electric company may be between now and then. Storms are not our friends!

The device that failed, and took the station with it, is a massive (55+ pounds) UPS unit that suffered a major internal failure and would not pass a nickels worth of electricity!

Fortunately, this particular type of failure has only occurred once in about 10 years of operation, so we are grateful for that! Our last major problem occurred in march of 2012 when a strong winter ice storm damaged the antenna array at our mountain top transmitter site near Discovery Bay. Is it really July already? 2021 is certainly moving at a fast pace! Fortunately, Radio of Hope is keeping up with our listeners as we provide Christ-honoring music and programming for every age.

Our weekly Your Story Hour episodes are listed on our main page www.radioofhope.org and with perhaps our most favorite story on July 4th.

For those busy folk, who still desire having quality literature in each day, "Good Books", airing Mon-Sat at 2:00pm and 9:30pm is currently "John Adams - Independence Forever" which will be followed up with "Brother Andrew - God's Secret Agent" on July 19th.

Of course, each day we celebrate the greatest freedom of all, as we proclaim a crucified. risen and soon-returning Savior! PTL!

Whenever a disaster occurs what do people do? They turn to their radio station to discover "What Happened", "Where Did it Happen" and "How will this affect my life."

In a year as disrupted and uncertain as 2020 has turned out to be, it is good to know that an unchanging God is still watching over this world, and that His plan of Salvation for mankind is moving forward.

In remembrance of the First Advent, Radio of Hope is celebrating with a special day of broadcasting on Friday, the 25th! Beginning in the early-morning hours, and marching right through to the end of our daily schedule, our shift to seasonal music will be augmented with special Christmas programs like:
