This stellar Auction is a fundraiser for the FPAC—an historic & eminent Art Club that was founded in 1955 by our local art legend A.E. “Beanie” Backus. The FPAC is a major force for good in our local art scene it graciously hosts numerous free art events that enriches our community—such as the Art on the Porch held every Monday at Cool Beans & so much more.

“Whoa! Wow! That’s really awesome!” Invariably, that’s the reaction of viewers of this magnificent work by Resident Artist Joe Gentry. When visitors come upon it, they are delightfully in awe. It has great impact!

“Entitled “Grounded Dutchman”—Mixed Media, 35” Diameter Wall Art, this masterwork is one in a series called “Eleven Ghost Ships of the Treasure Coast.” It commemorates the demise of the 1715 Fleet along our very own shores.

Photography fails to capture its intricacy & exacting detail. It is comprised of all manner of trinkets, baubles & treasures. This work is even more admirable as it is crafted entirely from castoff found objects destined for the trash heap.

Acrylic Pour or Acrylic Flow is all the rage. It is an art form that can be quite challenging as the artist often cedes much control over the process & outcome.

Resident Artist Sharon Aldrich has certainly mastered this art form—actually taking it to a whole new, spectacular level. First, she pours the acrylic. Lets it dry, then gilds certain parts to add a shimmery, lush element. Sheer magic! Captivating!

Go Fish! Lampwork Pendant with Necklace by Resident Artist Doris Jacoby.
What is Lampwork? Wikipedia defines it as “a type of glasswork used to melt & fashion glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing & shaping with tools & hand movements. It is also known as flameworking and torchworking, as modern practice no longer oil fueled lamps.” Lampworking can be traced to the 5th century BCE. It was widely practiced in Murano, Italy starting in the 14th century.
